Here is this years first "member of the month"- Joanne Sanchez!
What brought you to Crossfit Watsonville?
Former owner, Cliff Hodges convinced my husband and I to try it out. So we did!
How do you spend most of your days?
I'm a mother of three so I pretty much spend my days cooking, cleaning, and driving my kids around.
What is your biggest improvement since you started Crossfit?
Running! I've always hated running and while I'm still not great at it, I don't dread it as much anymore.
If you could program a workout what would be in it?
I rather tell you what wouldn't be in it: wall balls, thrusters, and rowing.
What is your favorite thing about being apart of the CFW team?
I think that everyone I encounter at CFW has a positive attitude and is very encouraging. Most of all I appreciate what being part of the CFW community is instilling in my children; working out is fun!
What's your best tip for new members?
Just try it, it's ok to scale workouts, and don't ever worry about what others think.
What's your go to restaurant?
Real Colima on East Lake!
What is the biggest struggle and reward for you in the gym?
My biggest struggle is being consistent. I go through phases when I'll show up 5-6 days a week and then there are the more common times when I only show up once a week. Gotta work on that! Biggest reward is the friends I've made and trainers who make me accountable. Both Jason and Lauren have called to ask where I've been.
Tell us something people might not know about you.
I brew kombucha and beer!
