Honoring Those Who Gave It All

Tonight's blog is from our CFA intern, Jamison Stiehr:

There has been a strong bond between CrossFit, law enforcement, and military since the early days of CrossFit's evolution. CrossFit has been a training tool for police and military to help out run, outfight, outthink, and overcome obstacles in the line of duty. As you all know, Crossfit has also been a way to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice when tragedy strikes in the line of duty. It's the way that the CrossFit community pays respect and shows the support for individual's life and family.

March 24, 2015 my brother-in-law Michael Johnson, SJPD, lost his life in the line of duty. From that day on, I have experienced the support from the CrossFit community first hand - it has been and continues to be incredible for our family. On Saturday April 23rd CrossFit Moxie (in San Jose) will be hosting the 2nd annual hero WOD for Mike. I would like to invite all of you, your family, and friends to come join us for this fun and meaningful event. There will be music, food, drinks, and a kick ass WOD. Don't feel like doing the wod? No worries, just come hang out and have some tacos!

Mike's badge number is 3718 and he was on the force for 14 years. So the WOD combines the two:

14 rounds for time
3 cleans 155/135 scaled (135/95)
7 kb swings 32/24 scaled (24/16)
1 100m run
8 box jumps 24/20

I hope you all can make it! Please let me know if you have any questions. Here's the link to sign up:

Thanks and it would mean a lot to see you guys out there!
